LEAVE NO WOMAN BEHIND
Fighting for migrant womens’ rights
Who we are
We are Safety4Sisters North West, a specialist charity offering refuge, advocacy and group support to Black and minoritised women with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
Based in Manchester, our female-led organisation campaigns to make safety a right for all women. We believe in equal access to safety and protection, regardless of a woman’s immigration status.
-
Refuge Accommodation – Abonsh House
Abonsh House is our specialist refuge based in Greater Manchester, providing short-term accommodation for up to four single migrant women with no recourse to public funds, who are experiencing gender-based violence.
-
VAWG & Immigration Advocacy – Advocacy Services
We provide specialist advocacy support to migrant women who are facing any form of gender-based violence.
-
Group Work & Community Healing – Group Activities
We offer a holistic group work programme to migrant women survivors. The group work provides a safe space for migrant women to come together as a community.
Our work is changing lives. Here’s how:
90%
of the migrant women we supported in the last year were supported to regularise their immigration status.
99%
of women engaged in our community group activities in the last year said they felt less isolated and had built a stronger sense of belonging.
96%
of the women we supported in the last 12 months stated they gained a better understanding of their rights and options after just 1 month of engagement.
100%
of the women we supported in the last 12 months, who were at risk of homelessness were provided with emergency accommodation support.
